About Hoorn
Hoorn boasts splendid racing conditions and sailing infrastructure, it is also one of the finest historic towns along the IJsselmeer borders. Hoorn's city center is within walking distance of the launch area. For those not sailing, Hoorn is a very interesting port dating from the 17th century. Back then, the harbour provided open access to the Zuiderzee and the seas beyond. Hoorn prospered in this Dutch 'Golden Age', when one of Hoorn's sons, Jan Pieterszoon Coen, founded Batavia in Indonesia.
